1.What are cookies?

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your browser. Cookies remember things — your preferences, your session, which pages you've seen.

This Cookie Policy explains which cookies Penumbra uses, why, and how you can manage them. It covers cookies and similar technologies (like web beacons, pixels, and local storage). For simplicity, we'll just call them all "cookies."

2.Cookies we use

Cookies on penumbra.health fall into three categories.

Required for the site to function — for example, to remember your cookie preferences, prevent fraud, and keep you signed in (when applicable). You can't reject these without breaking the site.

3.Your choices

You're in control of optional cookies.

Via our cookie banner

When you first visit penumbra.health, you'll see a cookie banner. You can Accept all (turn on all cookies), Reject optional (only strictly necessary cookies will load), or Customize (choose by category — analytics / advertising). You can change your choice anytime by clicking "Cookie settings" in the site footer.

Via your browser

You can also manage cookies in your browser settings:

Note that blocking essential cookies may break parts of the site.

Via the advertising platforms

You can also opt out of personalized advertising directly:

4.Do Not Track (DNT)

Some browsers can send a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. There's no industry-standard response to DNT, so we currently don't change our behavior based on it. You can still control cookies via the methods above.

We do, however, honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal: where your browser sends GPC, we treat it as a request to opt out of the "sale"/"sharing" of your personal information for advertising. See our California Privacy Rights notice for details.

5.Cookies and personal data

Some cookies (especially advertising cookies) can be considered personal data under laws like CCPA, GDPR, and the UK Data Protection Act. How we handle that data is covered in our Privacy Policy and the regional addenda.

6.Changes to this policy

When we add, remove, or change cookies, we'll update this Cookie Policy and change the "Effective Date" at the top. The current version is always at https://www.penumbra.health/penumbra-cookies.html.
